ILA yearly report 2025

In 2025, the ILA continued on its mission to promote the advancement of healthy longevity for all people through scientific research of ageing biology, development of new therapies, their fast, effective and safe implementation, improvement of public health and research policy in the field of ageing control, and education.

Longevity community building and conferences

A special emphasis, during 2025, as well as in 2024, was made by ILA on the longevity community building. A major mechanism of community building was by organizing and expanding the meetings of longevity researchers and advocates, from small meetups to large international conferences, which ILA co-organized.

In 2025, 12 such conferences included large conferences organized or co-organized  by ILA and its members in 12 countries:

Several such events corresponded with the International Longevity Month traditionally organized by ILA in October

For 2026, ILA already conducts over 10 international conference – in Davos, Switzerland; Kaunas and Vilnius, Lithuania; Ravda, Bulgaria, Bucharest, Romania; Madrid, Spain; Ljubljana, Slovenia; Frankfurt, Germany; Brussels, Belgium.; Tel Aviv, Israel; Dhaka, Bangladesh(the list is to be expanded)

In 2025, ILA federated membership grew to include 75 non-profit organizations and social enterprises, working (including branches) in 65 countries.

The collected monograph “Healthy Longevity Policies and Practices”

In 2025, the book “Healthy Longevity: Policies and Practices” was completed and sent for production in Springer Nature. It can be considered an “ILA book” as out of the 70 contributors of its 24 chapters, over a half are ILA members (individual and federated) or have a strong association with ILA. https://longevityalliance.org/new/healthy-longevity-policies-and-practices/

Many thanks to all the contributors for making it happen! The book is expected to be published in 2026. Yet, even the awareness of this forthcoming authoritative and comprehensive resource on longevity policy will give a good boost for longevity advocacy outreach and policy recommendations.

Reports of some of the ILA federated members are included below:

Vetek (Seniority) Association – the Movement for Longevity and Quality of Life (Israel)

2025 was a productive year for Vetek Association in our activities to promote research, development and education for healthy longevity.

In 2025, despite the difficult situation in Israel, there were established 3 (three) grant support programs for aging and longevity research in Israel and in cooperation with Israel, with open calls for research proposals on aging and longevity published: by the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology; the Ministry of Health; and the British Council in Israel. We are proud that these grant support programs and calls for research proposals were established in a large measure thanks to the promotional and educational efforts, also by Vetek Association that encouraged and helped formulate these support programs and calls for proposals. Altogether the support should be about 5 million USD (or about 15 million NIS) subject to budget availability. The exact figures of support will be known later on. Vetek association also advocated with several other ministries in Israel for the healthy longevity cause, as the subject is relevant for all.

Also in 2025, the book “Healthy Longevity: Policies and Practices” was completed (to be published in 2026) under the editorship and including 5 chapters with Vetek Association’s affiliation.

While promoting longevity research, development and education in Israel, Vetek Association also has been an active participant in the international longevity community and advanced international cooperation. Thus, Vetek Association has been an active federated member organization of the International Longevity Alliance (ILA) that in 2025 grew to 75 member organizations working in 65 countries.

Vetek Association encouraged further international cooperation programs. This is work in progress.

Society for Healthy Ageing and Prevention (Heales Germany)

In 2024–2025, the Society for Healthy Ageing and Prevention (Heales Germany) continued to advance its mission to promote healthy longevity and prevention through research, education, policy engagement, and international cooperation. As a federated member of the International Longevity Alliance (ILA), Heales Germany focused on strengthening the link between scientific evidence, public health practice, and policy development in Germany and at the European level.

A central pillar of Heales Germany’s work has been advocacy for the recognition of healthy ageing and longevity as integral components of the right to health. Activities included policy-oriented analyses, expert contributions to public debates, and engagement with national and European stakeholders in health, prevention, and social policy. Particular emphasis was placed on prevention, equity in access to health-promoting interventions, and the responsible translation of longevity research into public health systems.

Heales Germany contributed to longevity community building by organizing and supporting educational events, expert meetings, and conference sessions in cooperation with academic institutions, civil society organizations, and international partners. Members of Heales Germany actively participated in major international longevity conferences and forums, ensuring that perspectives from Germany and Europe were represented in global discussions on healthy longevity, prevention, and ageing policy.

In parallel, Heales Germany supported early-stage and interdisciplinary longevity research and initiatives, including conceptual work on seed funding mechanisms, collaboration models between academia and civil society, and capacity building for young researchers and advocates working at the intersection of ageing biology, prevention, and policy.

A further focus was placed on strengthening international cooperation within the ILA network, contributing to joint initiatives, exchanges of best practices, and coordinated advocacy efforts. Through close collaboration with other ILA federated members, Heales Germany supported the development of shared positions on evidence-based longevity medicine, good practices, and the countering of misinformation in the field.

Looking ahead, Heales Germany aims to further expand its role as a bridge between science, policy, and society, contributing to ILA’s strategic objectives by supporting national and regional longevity movements, promoting rigorous and ethical approaches to longevity medicine and prevention, and advancing the international recognition of healthy longevity as a public policy priority.

Longévité & Santé, France

http://longevite-sante.org/

As longevity has become mainstream and conferences are extraordinarily popping up everywhere already, Longévité & Santé continued its 2014 focus on the complementary general scientifico-technical approaches that may boost longevity

  • Collida (Collective Collection of Lifespan Data). As a reminder in 2014, the result of the initial great manual effort by volunteers became pale as LLMs started to pop up everywhere. Also, we discovered that LEVF was performing  a similar project, RAID (with results publicly available in early 2026). We therefore gathered the manually collected data and scripts, and decided to wait for 2026 once RAID results occur and perhaps also depending on how AI has advanced to re-examine the interest of the project.
  • Automated Daphnia Lifespan tests. Here, advancing strongly seemed appropriate, not in competition, especially when we heard that the funds of the main daphnia lab in Harvard had been cut (like many research funds in the US; not specific). So the path to automation advance 2 hours per week in a small group thanks to a local association, CAEL. We were able to have a raspberry-pi robot move along a wall and take images of aquariums (provided by the Harvard lab) and to pipet solutions into aquariums, though at this stage with manual guidance (nothing automated yet). A journalist made a journalistic article:

In 2026 the goal will be to build aquariums ourselves to be able to have many cohorts, to develop the computer vision to position the robot adequately and observe the daphnies adequately; then to fine tune everything before longevity experiments: there is still a long way to go.

A few general gatherings happened, the association Longévité&Santé was notably represented in Salon de l’Hypersanté in Lyon and Longevity Hacks Paris (hackathon organised by London Longevity Networks), but the focus in 2025 was more on the above.

The ILA as a whole and its individual and federated members will continue serving our common mission of advancing healthy longevity for all!
