50 countries in the International Longevity Alliance!

About one year since the beginning of networking in July, 2012, and about half a year after the first live meeting of activists in Brussels in December, 2012, presently, as of August, 13, 2013, the International Longevity Alliance (ILA) includes emerging groups in 50 countries! http://longevityalliance.org/ Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Benin, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Macedonia (Yugoslavia), Mexico, Moldova, Netherlands, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, the UK, the US, and Venezuela. All the groups (as well as additional online resources and venues of ILA) are listed here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/longevity.alliance/doc/429937660426393/

By now, over 10,000 people have been listed in various associated groups: about 1500 in the Central ILA group, about 1500 in various associated action groups (Actions, Legal Support, Advocacy, Grants and Jobs, Art), over 5000 in various national groups (~2000 in the Russian group alone and ~3000 in other national groups), over 4000 in the Longevity Party discussion group. The members overlap between different groups has been considerable and many people in the groups have been rather inactive. Still, this is a promising beginning for a broad international social movement for longevity. The manifesto of the International Longevity Alliance has been translated into 16 different languages: English, Italian, Arabic, Kurdish, Brazilian-Portuguese, Japanese, Persian, Danish, Hebrew, Russian, German, Spanish, Polish, Hindi, Slovak and French. http://longevityalliance.org/longevity-is-the-common-language/

Over 20 projects have been initiated http://longevityalliance.org/for-an-active-2013-for-international-longevity-alliance/ http://www.denigma.de/experts/collaborations/?labs=555&sort=labs Including the flagship project – Denigma – Deciphering the Aging Process – that will become a comprehensive IT, scientific and communication platform for longevity scientists, activists and supporters http://www.denigma.de/

An International Longevity Action was conducted in over 20 countries on March 1, 2013. http://longevityalliance.org/for-the-future-of-longevity/ And another large one, the International Longevity Day, is planned for October 1, 2013. http://www.longevityday.org/

Yet much more activity is desired: more active and massive participation in projects, local meetings, websites and blogs in national languages, eventually registration of pro-longevity associations in different countries, dedicated publications, participation in research, approaching public media and decision makers to raise interest and support for longevity research.

Looking forward to continued activities for healthy longevity for all!

ILA project leaders.
